Fluctuating Maritime Boundaries

Photo: V2osk/Unsplash

About the project

This project studies the delimitation of bilateral maritime boundaries at highly unstable coastlines. It explains that such boundaries (or boundary segments) can fluctuate in accordance with ambulatory coasts and discusses alternative solutions to avoid fluctuations.

This research was published in two separate articles in Leiden Journal of International Law. The second article is a rejoinder to Dr. Massimo Lando’s ‘Stability of maritime boundaries and the challenge of geographical change’.
